Last week, we had a terrific conference with the growing MDriven team. We talked about where we are and where we are heading. We met established team members and team members on their way in. 2025 is the start of community building and cultivating wider market exposure for MDriven!
I extend my warmest thank you to all who participated in our discussions during the week. I am sure we are all energized and ready to face the coming years.
When not busy conferencing, we visited the source of the River Nile and watched our team member, Herbert Ichama, do a bungy jump!
The conference was held in Jinja, Uganda, Africa – a perfect place for Swedes who sort of usually hate November.
Engaging with Victoria University Kampala
Later in the week, we had a productive meeting with representatives from Victoria University Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) in Kampala. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dean of FST, and members of the Administrative team were present. Significant proposals were laid out to grow the mindset and open up the minds of the young to new ways of solving problems, particularly with the perspective of modeling.
We are always open to cooperating with professional learning institutions that see the value of turning theory into practice, just as MDriven does as a default.
Victoria University likes the way MDriven is based on open standards and revolutionizes how information systems are built and maintained. We will help their students skip ahead and avoid the pitfalls of traditional code-focus to have a solution-focus instead. Remember: if you want high-level results, you should use high-level tools.
Dr. David Kakeeto – Dean FST; Lars Olofsson – MDriven CEO; Martin Turyagenda – MDriven Community Outreach Officer; Hans Karlsen – MDriven CTO; Mr. Alex Bazigu – Lecturer; Herbert Byamukama – MDriven Project Lead, Kampala
The following week, Lars held a well-attended (200+) lecture for students of the Computer Science program. He will share a story on that, I am sure.
I am ending with a picture taken on a busy street in Kampala. I will definitely be back soon!
